Position Information

Life Enrichment Programs Director
  • Assists with developing, implementing, maintaining and periodically updating written procedural guidelines relating to Life Enrichment for skilled nursing centers.
  • Responsible for consulting with skilled nursing center Life Enrichment/Activities associates.
  • Assists in developing and implementing of specialty behavior communities and programming.
  • Conducts center visits to evaluate programs and effectiveness of life enrichment services provided.
  • Establishes and maintains effective inter-departmental communications to provide positive working relationships.
  • Participates in meetings and education for skilled nursing center Life Enrichment Directors.
  • Provides regulatory support related to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assists in the development of in-service training material pertinent to areas of responsibility.
  • Provides assistance with on-site training/orientation with Directors as requested.
  • Assists with development of procedural guidelines.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors compliance of organization’s volunteer programming.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Social Services to develop and implement programming to support psychosocial patient needs.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive activities and social services program to help meet the physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs of the residents
  • Utilizes technological advances to enhance quality of life for patients.
  • Actively participates in Performance Improvement efforts.
  • Serves on corporate compliance committee, as requested.
  • Coordinates psychiatric and psychological activities with Physician Liaison.
  • Periodically reviews/updates admission practices to ensure compliance with federally mandated regulations.
  • Provides input to the Vice President of Social &Life Enrichment Programs for Inpatient Services as needed regarding personnel in the skilled nursing centers.
  • Provides on-site and periodic group training for clinical associates in the skilled nursing centers.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy, Social Services or related field.
  • Minimum, two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a long term care center;
  • Possess a working knowledge of long-term care operational standards set forth in the Federal Register, Requirements of Participation.
  • Knowledgeable of, and able to operationalize rules and regulations governing patient care and treatment related to Life Enrichment.
  • Able to effectively communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing to individuals/groups of varying educational backgrounds.
  • Expert knowledge in the areas of social services, activity programs and transitions of care;
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, department heads, administrators, and health service teams to promote positive outcomes.
