Advocacy
The Georgia Health Care Association is the state's largest association of long term and post-acute providers. Since 1953, GHCA's Legislative and PAC Leadership has tirelessly advocated for the more than 73,000 Georgia seniors and 58,000 caring employees that comprise our membership.
Successful advocacy at the State and Federal level requires a year-round focus and commitment to the issues facing our profession and the political decision makers that impact all we do. GHCA applauds all those who have selflessly given of both their time and financial resources to make these efforts possible.

Legislative visits in GHCA/GCAL member centers play a critical role in GHCA/GCAL’s legislative efforts and help to educate policy makers on issues affecting the long term and post-acute care profession in our state. Many lawmakers have never been inside a skilled nursing center or assisted living community, are unfamiliar with the complexities of care you provide, and may not understand all you do daily to enhance the lives of the residents in your center. As such, inviting legislators into your center is an excellent opportunity to help them see the services you provide and further understand our issues.Locate the contact information and bios for your local legislators online here. For assistance in setting up a tour, please contact GHCA VP of Government Relations Seth Coker at scoker@ghca.info or (706) 975-1824.
