“Achieving a Gold Quality Award is no easy task, especially amid a global pandemic, and requires unwavering dedication and commitment to quality advancement,” said GHCA President & CEO Tony Marshall. “Magnolia Manor of Marion County earning the Gold Quality Award is a truly remarkable achievement that helps strengthen the long term care profession in our state. On behalf of the entire GHCA membership, I commend center Administrator Angela Watkins and her team on accomplishing the highest level of distinction of the AHCA/NCAL Quality Awards and for their commitment to enhancing the quality of care for Georgia's seniors. We are so proud.”
Earning the Gold - Excellence in Quality Award requires a long term care community to achieve both the Bronze - Commitment to Quality and Silver - Achievement in Quality awards prior to moving to the Gold level — an accomplishment that takes several years. Applicants adhere to the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, an organization management improvement tool that focuses on key areas, including leadership, customer and workforce satisfaction, strategic planning and more.
Since the program's inception in 1996, AHCA/NCAL has recognized only 49 organizations with awards at the Gold level, the final and most rigorous level of the program. Magnolia Manor of Marion County is one of only two centers earning this distinction for 2021.
“These providers have demonstrated exceptional performance and care outcomes for their residents and staff that makes them the best in the nation,” said Tammy Kelly, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers Chair. “I applaud their resiliency and dedication to the quality journey and for this outstanding achievement.”
At the first and second levels of the program, 38 Georgia centers were recognized, with 28 providers achieving a Bronze - Commitment to Quality award and 10 reaching the Silver - Achievement in Quality award.
The awards will be presented to Georgia recipients during AHCA/NCAL's 72nd Convention & Expo, October 10-13, 2021, in National Harbor, Maryland.
