A Tribute to Our Friend, Andy Morris

Celebrating Andy Morris's life that made a lasting impact.
We mourn the loss of a visionary leader, Andy Morris, a dedicated professional, and a remarkable human being. Andy was more than just a pillar in our profession — he was a driving force who helped shape the way we work, innovate, and connect. When I spoke to many colleagues who knew Andy personally, I do not believe there was one aspect of skilled nursing care that he didn't have a hand in developing — he was a pioneer, bringing quality to the forefront for all for those he served.
As we reflect on his passing, we also celebrate a life that made a lasting impact. Let us honor Andy's memory by continuing to uphold the values he stood for and striving to build on the foundation he helped lay.
Our deepest condolences go out to Andy's family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and work with him. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Chris Downing, GHCA President & CEO

From Pineleaf Investments COO & GHCA Board Chair Terry Cook:
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's grace.” 1 Peter 4:10

"We are grieving the loss of our dear friend Andy Morris. I was blessed to call Andy a friend and mentor for over 20 years. Andy personified this Bible verse in his life each day. He strived to use his gifts to serve others and was always kind and compassionate to everyone. He cared about the patients, families, and caregivers like family which inspired and motivated everyone he worked with to follow his lead. He loved people and it showed in everything he created.

"Andy's calm demeanor concealed a relentless work ethic and drive. He was a visionary, pioneer, and had a phenomenal entrepreneurial spirit. He was really like an entrepreneur on steroids. A true 'Renaissance Man' who applied his talents and succeeded in so many endeavors. As founder of Reliable Health Care Management, he worked tirelessly to innovate and create many new services for his patients. His passion for service was always focused on his patients.

"My family was blessed to have met Andy in the 1990's through his MedEasy computer software company. We called him and Charlie Hehn so much during the early days, I was afraid they would cancel our tech support. But regardless of the number of calls we made, Andy was always there for us and ready to help. He created Pharmacy Partners and a dialysis center to better serve his patients. All these milestone accomplishments are a testament to his incredible drive to provide services for our profession.

"Andy and Jan gave my family a tour of The Cottages at Rockmart in May of 2021. They had tremendous pride in the beautiful home they created. This home had been their dream for many years. It pioneered many groundbreaking design and staffing concepts, and I will always remember Andy's enthusiasm when he talked about this project.

"Andy's service was a sweet celebration of his outstanding life. I was heartened to hear his family, and friends describe how Andy had helped each of them start businesses, gave advice, and inspired them in so many ways. One of his nephews described how Andy built chicken houses. Andy, always creative, came up with the name 'Chubby Chickens' for their farm. No one wants to eat lean chicken, and the name became an instant success.

"Andy faced each challenge with an infinite amount of fortitude and positive spirit. Whenever I talked to him, Andy always inspired me with his resilience. I always felt encouraged after talking with Andy. He was such a blessing in my life - an exceptional role model, mentor, counselor, and friend!

"Jan, you and Andy have built homes and provided care to so many people. Y'all have made such a difference in so many lives—this is a tremendous legacy of service, and we sincerely thank you for all you have provided, and still provide, for Georgia's vulnerable citizens, and beyond. Please know we love you, Andy, and the family. We will be lifting you and the family up in prayer!"

From Co-CEO Reliable Health Care Management Angelena Hehn:
"Andy wasn't just a leader—he was a visionary. Through Reliable Health Care Management and the creation of The Cottages at Rockmart, he reimagined how we care for our elders. He believed that nursing homes should feel like home, and that residents deserved dignity, choice, and comfort. What he built wasn't just innovative- it was deeply human.

"But what set Andy apart most wasn't just what he built. It was how he lived. Conversations about Andy always come back to the same words: Kind. Brilliant. Generous.
"He believed, 'If you take care of your staff, they'll take care of the residents.' And he lived that belief every day, investing in people, empowering teams, and giving back in ways big and small. Speaking with friends as well as current and former employees over the last week, many have said to me, 'Without Andy taking a chance on me, I wouldn't be where I am today.' Others remember how he made them feel valued, seen, and supported.
"The stories of his kindness go on and on. From housekeeping to nursing, maintenance to leadership, everyone at Reliable felt Andy's impact. He didn't just create jobs, he created purpose and belonging.
"Andy Morris was a believer in people, a friend to me and many others, and a man who gave far more than he ever asked in return. His legacy lives on in every life he touched, and we are all better for having known him.
"May we honor his memory by leading with the same heart, humility, and hope that he gave so freely."

From Co-CEO Reliable Health Care Management Brandy McGill:
"I worked with Andy for 16 years and have never met anyone like him—he was so brilliant and kind—and he was my mentor and friend. Staff thought so highly of Andy, all echoing the same sentiments about his kind manner and extreme generosity. His mantra he believed and lived by was, 'If you take care of your staff, they will in return take care of the residents with the best quality of care.'

"Andy had such a vision on changing the face of skilled nursing homes. He wanted the centers to feel like home and not an institution. This was always so important to Andy and one of his top priorities, and he did just that in every project he worked on and in everything he did. Losing Andy is heartbreaking and a huge loss, but that's why our goal is to carry on his vision and his goals!"

From Pamela K. Williams, Administrator Chulio Hills Health & Rehab:
"I came to work for Reliable Healthcare Management over 19 years ago and when I first met Andy Morris, I knew I was in the right place. There will never be another like Andy.

"Andy was not only an extraordinary man who was an amazing friend, he was a man who cared deeply for his work family. His compassion for making the nursing home profession a better place for the elderly, spoke highly about the kind of man he was. Andy cared that what he created, continued to prosper. His goal at a very young age was to improve nursing homes. He cared that the most vulnerable population was taken care of in the most meaningful way.

"Andy was generous, kind and caring  to all who knew him. I will forever be grateful to Andy for showing me what it means to work for a skilled nursing facility who puts resident care above all else."

From Rhonda Bass, Administrator at The Cottages at Rockmart
"Andy's vision for change in the skilled nursing facility arena is why we were developed and built. Ironically, it was 4 years ago that our home was opened although he dreamed of this coming to fruition for years prior. He wanted residents to have quality, dignity and longevity in a home like environment.

"This profession is better because of his commitment and dedication to both residents and staff. We are better having known and loved him. Our entire campus, residents and staff are grateful for his work, for his heart for others and for never giving up on this dream. Our prayers are with his family and he will be greatly missed. RIP ANDY!"

From SMcGuire Consulting President & CEO Susan McGuire:
“Andy was an exceptional entrepreneur, but more importantly, he was an exceptional human being. I feel very honored to have known him, and will greatly miss him.”
