Kaythyjo Gordon Named 2019-2020 Chair of the Georgia Center for Assisted Living

The Georgia Health Care Association/Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) is pleased to announce Kathyjo Gordon, Executive Director of Stone Brooke Suites, has been elected to serve as the 2019-2020 Chair of the GCAL Board of Directors.

The Georgia Health Care Association/Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) is pleased to announce Kathyjo Gordon, Executive Director of Stone Brooke Suites in Gray, GA, has been elected to serve as the 2019-2020 Chair of the GCAL Board of Directors. Mrs. Gordon was elected to the position by the GCAL membership during a member business meeting on May 23 and was installed by Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller during the GHCA/GCAL Summer Convention on June 12, 2019, in Amelia Island, FL.

“Kathyjo is an outstanding leader who has been instrumental in the growth of GCAL.” said GHCA/GCAL President & CEO Tony Marshall. “I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Kathyjo and the rest of the GCAL Board to continue to advance the Association and enhance the lives of those residing in Georgia's assisted living communities.”

As Chair, Mrs. Gordon will be responsible for ensuring the proper governance of the Association and serve as the primary voice for the GCAL membership on the GHCA Board of Directors. She will also serve as a National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) State Leader.

Mrs. Gordon has worked as Executive Director of Stone Brooke Suites since 2015 and the center has been deficiency free in all state surveys under her leadership. She has served on the GCAL Board of Directors as Secretary and Vice Chair before being elected as Chair. Mrs. Gordon was recently awarded 2019 Executive Director of the Year by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). She has resided in Jones County for 15 years and is active within her community. She previously served as a Past President of the Jones County Rotary Club and currently serves as Youth Sunday School Teacher, Heart of a Woman (HOW) Women's Bible Study Leader, and Choir Director at Greenwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Gordon and her husband Michael have three sons - Kameron, Kevin and Kyle.
