Kathyjo Gordon Reelected as Chair of the Georgia Center for Assisted Living for 2020-2021

The Georgia Health Care Association/Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) is pleased to announce Kathyjo Gordon, Executive Director of Stone Brooke Suites in Gray, GA, has been reelected to serve as the Chair of the GCAL Board of Directors for 2020-2021. Mrs. Gordon was elected to the position by the GCAL membership and was installed by GHCA/GCAL President and CEO Tony Marshall during a member business meeting on June 23.July 21, 2020

“Kathyjo is an outstanding leader who has been instrumental in the growth of GCAL through her years of service and in her year as Chair.” said GHCA/GCAL President & CEO Tony Marshall. “I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to work with Kathyjo and the rest of the GCAL Board to continue to advance the Association and enhance the lives of those residing in Georgia's assisted living communities.”
As Chair, Mrs. Gordon will be responsible for ensuring the proper governance of the Association and serve as the primary voice for the GCAL membership on the GHCA Board of Directors. She will also serve as a National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) State Leader.
Mrs. Gordon has worked as Executive Director of Stone Brooke Suites since 2015 and, under her leadership, the center has been deficiency free in all state surveys and has been awarded a Bronze Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). She has served on the GCAL Board of Directors as Secretary and Vice Chair before being elected as Chair for her first term in 2019. She has resided in Jones County for 16 years and is active within her community. She previously served as a Past President of the Jones County Rotary Club and is a youth leader, leads worship and directs the choir at Greenwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Gordon and her husband Michael have three sons - Kameron, Kevin, and Kyle.
