Jerry Patton Named 2021-2022 Chair of the Georgia Health Care Association

The Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) is pleased to announce Jerry Patton, CEO and Administrator of Cumming Health and Rehabilitation in Cumming, GA, has been elected to serve as the 2021-2022 Chair of the GHCA Board of Directors. Mr. Patton was elected to the position by GHCA membership and installed by Representative Butch Parrish during the GHCA Summer Convention on June 16, 2021, in Amelia Island, FL.
 
“Jerry has served GHCA for many years, most recently as Vice Chair before being elected to the position of Chair. He is an outstanding leader who is truly dedicated to the Association's mission to ensure high quality care is being provided to all elderly Georgians,” said GHCA/GCAL President & CEO Tony Marshall. “I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Jerry and the rest of the 2021-2022 Board of Directors in continuing to enhance long term and post-acute care in our state.”
 
As Chair, Patton will be responsible for ensuring the proper governance of the Association and serve as the primary voice of long term and post-acute care providers in Georgia. He will also serve as GHCA's representative to the American Health Care Association's (AHCA) Council of States.
 
Patton is the Administrator and CEO of Cumming Health and Rehabilitation and Cumming Senior Living, a skilled nursing center and personal care home located in Cumming, GA. In his more than 20 years as a licensed nursing home administrator, he has managed 10 different senior care organizations – both for profit and not for profit – as a licensed administrator and as senior management. He has overseen operations that have successfully yielded deficiency free surveys in 4 centers throughout his career. He operates a multifaceted company with expertise in regulatory compliance and dedication to high standards of care in the long term health care industry.
 
Patton has served in various leadership positions on the GHCA Board of Directors before being elected as chair. He has also previously served on the Board of Directors for LeadingAge in Georgia. He attended the University of Tennessee and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Long Term Healthcare at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN.
