The Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) is pleased to announce that Suzanne Gerhardt, Senior Area Vice President for PruittHealth, has been elected to serve as the 2023-2024 Chair of the GHCA Board of Directors. Gerhardt was elected to the position by GHCA membership and installed by Georgia Speaker of the House Jon Burns during the GHCA Summer Convention on June 7, 2023, in Amelia Island, FL.
“Suzanne has served this Association with distinction for many years and most recently as Vice Chair before being elected to the position of Chair. She is an outstanding leader whose dedication to ensuring high-quality, patient centered care is accessible to all elderly Georgians serves as an inspiration to the entire membership,” said GHCA President & CEO Chris Downing. “I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Suzanne and the rest of the 2023-2024 Board of Directors in continuing to advance long term care in our state.”
As Chair, Gerhardt will be responsible for ensuring the proper governance of the Association and serve as the primary voice of long term and post-acute care providers in Georgia. She will also serve as GHCA's representative to the American Health Care Association's (AHCA) Council of States.
Having worked in long term care for the entirety of her career, Gerhardt has dedicated her professional life to caring for vulnerable Georgians. She has held multiple roles in skilled nursing care centers including Social Worker and in positions within the Admissions and Financial departments. She has served as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 1997. She has also held multiple leadership offices within GHCA, including Council President, Board Member at Large, Treasurer, and Vice Chair.
