Important Update Regarding the NAB Registry - Effective April 1, 2018

GHCA/GCAL is a NAB approved National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) sponsor/provider. GHCA/GCAL is also an approved provider of education by the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home Administrators and Nursing. All GHCA/GCAL programs provide credit hours to Georgia Nursing Home Administrators and Nurses unless noted otherwise. Georgia does not require NAB approval for licensed nursing home administrators to earn their continuing education credit hours. Therefore, GHCA/GCAL only occasionally submits programs to NAB for this extra approval. NAB approval is an expensive and time sensitive application process that can sometimes reduce our ability to offer the programming to our members in a timely manner.

Administrators who are licensed in more than one state and desire NAB credits are required to create a NAB CE Registry.  It is free to create a NAB Registry account and you can do so by clicking here. Administrators must register for a NAB ID no later than April 1, 2018 in order to continue to receive CE certificates from NCERS sponsors/providers.  Beginning April 1, GHCA/GCAL and all NAB approved NCERS providers will be required to report credit to the CE registry if GHCA/GCAL provides NAB hours. The NAB Registry is only obligatory for those individuals who desire NAB credit.

If Administrators do not create a NAB CE Registry and do not provide a NCERS sponsor (which includes GHCA/GCAL) their NAB ID number, those Administrators will not receive NAB credit for an NAB approved event. However, they will still receive Georgia credit for their LNHA licenses. GHCA/GCAL events that are currently NAB approved are the F-Tag Review Webinar Series through Proactive Medical Review and Consulting that we are providing monthly. All other programs are approved by the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home administrators and the Georgia State Board of Nursing unless noted otherwise.

Beginning January, GHCA/GCAL now requires Administrators who are seeking NAB credits for NAB approved events, to include their NAB ID number at the time of registration for NAB approved programs. NAB created the registry as a method for Administrators to virtually house their CE certificates, an approach the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home Administrators, Nursing and other Boards already use with CE Broker. NAB created their own separate registry from CE Broker.
