General Questions

Q: How do I update my online membership profile?
A: To update your profile, click on "My Profile" in the member portal menu. Review your information, make changes as necessary, and click on the "Save Changes" button to update your profile.

Please note: All "required" fields must be filled out prior to updating your profile otherwise changes will not be saved.

Q: I do not know my username and password, what should I do?
A: If you are a current member of GHCA/GCAL you can retrieve your username and a temporary password via email by clicking here and entering the email address that was used to sign up for your account. Your username and password can also be changed under "My Profile".

Q: I received an email containing my username and a temporary password, what next?
A: Please proceed to the login page here and type in your username and temporary password.

Q: I am having trouble accessing my account with the username and temporary password that was sent to me.
A: We recommend that you type the username and password that was provided via email. If you copy and paste the selection into the username and password fields, sometimes you are copying and pasting an extra "space" which the system will not recognize.

Q: I pressed the "Retrieve Username and Password" button more than once, will I get more than one email?
A: You can retrieve your username and a temporary password as many times as you wish but the system will send you additional emails. Note that the most recent email you've received will contain the temporary password that will allow you to access your account.

GHCA Education Questions

Q: How do I register for a GHCA in person event or Continuing Education Webinar?
A: Registering for a GHCA in person event or webinar is easy. Simply access our event calendar then choose an education session. Once on the registration page, click register and complete the online form. You must fill out the registration form in its entirety. Each attendee must register individually to receive credit as only the name of the participant signed in will be eligible.

Q: Who can attend a GHCA Continuing Education webinar?
A: Our webinars are designed for all professionals working in the long-term care and post-acute care continuum. While we create our education to serve our members, non-members may attend at non- member pricing as well.

Q: Can I earn continuing education (CE) credit for GHCA webinars?
A: All GHCA webinars are approved for continuing education credit based of eligibility and state requirements. Below are the states and eligible positions:

  • Georgia Licensed Nursing Home Administrators
  • Georgia Licensed Assisted Living Community Administrators and Personal Care Home Administrators
  • Georgia: Nurses (RN, LPN, LVN)
  • The Winter and Summer Conventions are also approved by the National Association of Boards for health care administrators (NAB). Your unique NAB R- Identifier must be provided.
  • Other conferences may include additional eligible positions and will be noted in the event information.

Attendance is monitored, and therefore all attendees:

  1. Must demonstrate full participation for the entirety of the webinar
  2. Must attend using the link provided to access the webinar and sign in using the email you used to register for the training
  3. Must be logged on to the webinar via a computer device which enables you to view the slides, and have the ability to engage in chat, respond to polls and post questions in order to be eligible to receive credit.
  4. In some instances, we may require that you complete a brief online survey in order to receive their CE credit. The survey link will automatically populate in a pop-up window after the webinar. Please ensure that any pop-up blockers we have are set to allow this pop-up.

Note: Attendees who dial in only or do not sign into the webinar on a computer will not receive credit.

Q: What do I need to participate in a webinar?
A: Attendees will need a computer or mobile device with a strong Wifi or Data network connection. We offer our webinars through a variety of popular platforms including GoMeet, Zoom, and GoToMeeting, all of which have websites and mobile app. After you register with your name, email, organization, and job title, you will receive an email with a link to click to join and view the webinar at the time and date stated. You may need headphones if the sound is likely to disturb those around you.

Q: How do I join the webinar?
A: After you register with your name, email, organization and job title, you will receive an email with a link to click to join and view the webinar at the time and date stated. This email will contain a link for joining the webinar. At the specified webinar start time, click the link and enter the information prompted. You will be placed into the webinar. If prompted to enter a display name, please enter your full name. Upon entry, attendees are automatically muted.

Q: Who is eligible for Continuing education credit for our webinars?
A:Continuing Education Credit hours are for licensed nursing home administrators, assisted living community administrators, personal care home administrators and nurses. Attendance is monitored, and attendees must be present for the entire online webinar and complete a brief online survey if prompted to receive credit. Attendees must sign in using the same email they used to register.

Attendees must be signed into the webinar to view the slides and have the ability to post in the attendee chat, respond to polls and post questions in order to be eligible to receive credit. Attendees who dial in only will not receive credit.

Q: How do I get CE credit?
A: Following the webinar, GHCA will reconcile attendance and payment records and will report on your behalf to CE Broker and NAB if applicable. Since the CE Broker record is preferred by the state boards over certificates, GHCA does not issue certificates. However, if you have a special request for one, you may obtain one by making a request to GHCA.

Q: Can I review the content from a past webinar?
A: Yes. GHCA will send a recording of any session you may have registered and paid for upon request. Viewing the recording after a webinar is only for personal use and will not be eligible for any CE credit. Credits are only awarded for full participation (webinar attendance, viewing slides, engaging in chat, polls, and questions and if applicable, survey completion) at the time of the webinar as outlined in the sections above.
